THE VILLAGE ORCHARD : Where Fruit Trees and Nature Abound.
A poet may refer to them as lovely as a poem, but trees signify not just the beauty of the community's natural environment at Ayala Westgrove Heights, it also highlights a character that conjures affability unfamiliar to many emerging residential developments.
The inclusion of The Orchard wasn't aimed to create something new, but rather to draw from what was already there in Ayala Westgrove Heights-the undulating terrain, the spectacular views and thousands of mango trees well-loved by the homeowners.
Nestling in the valley between the ridges of Phase 3, this garden extends to a total of 950 meters from the East to the West. Its boundary begins at the highest point of the village, very near the clubhouse, and descends to about 60 meters to the eastern most perimeter where the natural stream of the original park flows.
Envisioned to recreate the village orchard, The Orchard banked on the existing mango trees abundantly spread out within the first two phases of Ayala Westgrove to serve as anchor to the developments that followed. Last year, it already undertook on-site planting of over 600 saplings of makopa, lanzones, santol, mango, guava and fruits within specific zones according to their fruit-bearing season. It has sowed a wide variety of native fruit trees to ensure a year-round supply for the residents. Thus, making The Orchard a perfect venue for fruit picking and picnics.
Soon, residents would reap on the fruits of The Orchard. Meanwhile, they can already basking on the serenity of its lush garden or enjoy relaxing walks at the path circling the park. Tropical plants and shrubs were added alongside the footpath as a visual feast for joggers as well as the residents living in front of the park. It also has cascading water gardens that comes as a replica of the waterway that inspired the creation of the The Orchard.
Gazebos built as rest stations or picnic huts also make fine spots to catch scenic views of Mount Makiling, Laguna De Bay and Tagaytay. Children's playgrounds were also set up to cater to neighborhood kids wanting to have fun outdoors.
The Orchard at Ayala Westgrove Heights is almost like your usual neighborhood park. What sets it apart is that it bears witness not only to the growth of its fruit trees and the beauty of nature but also, that of a community of fun-loving and friendly neighbors.
